sl(u)nk

filth and slime
sitting beneath the flesh
of this overgrown
pansy flower.

slithering from one day to the next
slinking between your bed and mine.

it’s no wonder you’re embarrassed
to be seen with me
on the streets,
with your friends,
in our home.

‘home is where the heart is’,
and i gave you mine

eternally.
